50th Anniversary Celebrations

What a weekend! Bassenthwaite Sailing Club celebrated its 50^th anniversary in style. A weekend of celebrations in the specially decorated marquee was attended by approx. 130 members, past and present, together with friends and regular sailing visitors from as far afield as Sidmouth in Devon (or is it Cornwall). After the meal the Commodore gave a short speech recalling some of the Club’s history, and then everyone danced the night away to a local jazz band. The evening was topped off with a firework display.
