Q16t) General comments on camping/caravanning at the regatta.
q16t: A superb job by the organisers with all the awful conditions they encountered.
q16t: Car parking seemed easier this year despite the reduced amout of space. Obviously essential for those who are staying off site and taking part in the regatta that there is car parkling space for us.
q16t: It was fine - we were lucky to find a large spot that someone had vacated after the weekend
q16t: It would be nice to separate the cars from the boats, but I appreciate space was tight.  Q11):  I've no responsible view on family camping area, having never used it
q16t: Lakeview - It was fine, but here are a few comments for if you use it again.  It needs a water supply - it's a long way back to the club to wash dishes/fill up pans for cooking etc.  Lights on the path were much appreciated.  Couldn't hear the tannoy announcements.
q16t: Our family camped and have reservations about attending in future unless unruly elements are removed
q16t: The 'lake view' field looked lovely but we couldn't have taken a camper van onto it because it was on such a slope and we may have got stuck! We talked to some people who were in a tent and loved it there.
q16t: Use of the field opposite for cars was good in previous years as it reduced number of cars on site - this would be good if it could be done again
q16t: Was cosy, but it made a nice change having people camping in different places to their usual
q16t: Was disturbed by, probably, under 18s running around the site obviously 'worse for drink' being rowdy at 4 - 5am particularly after the discos. I accept passing noise is inevitable at the end of a good night, but this noise was sustained and I suspect from under 18s on site unsupervised.
q16t: We asked for a quiet spot, but due to the weather we were moved next to the main pathway through to the clubhouse, and suffered from noise and banging on our caravan. Parking around our caravan meant that we had to park a distance away when were returned from shopping.
q16t: we only slept on site one night but had a tent for daytime use
q16t: We would stay again in lake view field if better facilities. Noise from road was alittle intrusive.
q16t: While "Lake View" was a lovely camping spot, the distance to the facilities made things slightly more difficult. However, I was impressed that you'd managed to make the best of a difficult situation at the last minute!
q16t: Would prefer that caravans & campers were NOT put on the back field & that this was kept for camping only!
Q17) The Club made more space near the lake for visitor boat parking this year. Were you aware?

q17: aware no space 9 19%

q23: neither 26 54%

q23t: Butcher more often!!
q23t: I didn't use the either this year but think it is a great idea and will use them in future years
q23t: keep them coming
q23t: My only complaint about site services is the temperature of the ladies' showers. Deeply unpleasant after a hard day's racing!
q23t: retain if possible for those staying on site
q23t: times of visits to be advertised if possible, grocer said he would be more organised next year!
q23t: we did not have any facilities in lake view apart from one portaloo. Also no rubbish bins, so we had to carry our rubbish to the main site.
q23t: Would probably use at some point in the week, most likely on wednesday when least time after sailing

q25t: Appreciated the assistance with finding a boat space
q25t: Excellent cleanliness, as ever, and the majority of campers' needs were carefully considered.
q25t: I was worried about children around clubhouse on bikes running into people. I have seen this type of injury.
q25t: We were told from other people that items had gone missing from the drying facilities.

q29: no prize winner 2 4%
q29: no non prize winner 3 6%

q30: yes 45 94%
q30: not in extreme conditions 3 6%
q30: no 0 0%
Q31) What changes to the fleet starts would you make (If any)?
q31t: as an enterprise sailor it was nice to have the GPs go first!
q31t: Course indicated at the club house.
q31t: GP14s are faster than Ents change the PY accordingly Pursuit Race proved ot all
q31t: The course was posted on the committee boat and then the start sequence was started immediately after causing all the boats to flock to the start line to read the course, this caused considerable traffic for the fast handicap. I appreciate the race officer wanting to get the fleets away on time, but could it be considered for the future.
q31t: The slow handicap/mirrors/toppers start time needs to be brought forward.
q31t: The slow handicap/mirrors/toppers start time needs to be brought forward.
q31t: Very cramped and busy not enough room
Q31t) General comments on Sailing:
q31t2: A really good week.
q31t2: all good
q31t2: Awesome as ever!!
q31t2: Best wind velocities I can remember over the years, still getting to grips with the flukiness !!!!!
q31t2: brilliant
q31t2: Courses are incredibly complicated and v difficult to write down in a single handed tippy boat - simpler courses wd be helpful
q31t2: courses very intricate  didin't sail all races due to weather conditons
q31t2: Excellent as always
q31t2: Generally well organised and efficient - Thanks!!
q31t2: getting on and off the water difficult, didn't like being shouted at for obscuring the OD box when trying your best to exit the watre quickly
q31t2: go back to port end Committee boat.
q31t2: I love sailing at Bass!   Thank you for organising it so well.
q31t2: It was great.. Keep the courses interesting. Wind ward leeward gets very dull.
q31t2: Ood mistakes seemed more frequent this year- would a laptop and lights/vdu automating it make it easier?
q31t2: Sailing ?
q31t2: Some fleets were small for fixed Gold/Silver fleets.  One alternative is overall 1st, 2nd +highest placed boat that hasn't won a prize.  I don't actually know if this would work better.
q31t2: Start lines were no where near as fair as in all previous years. All very biassed towards the committee boat end apart from on Friday. This resulted in alot of congestion even though the lines were long. The sound signals and flags were not in agreement  for  general recalls. Even though we had seen the 1st substitute from 300yds away decided to return to the shore and go shopping instead on Thursday
q31t2: The slow handicap/mirrors/toppers need to sail a smaller course with less marks.
q31t2: Very good courses, back to back racing should be back to back, we were waiting over an hr for the commette boat to reapear
q31t2: Very well run as ever! Fantastic weather and sailing conditions, so well done to whoever organised that!
q31t2: Well organised and good courses

q33t: difficult to fit in
q33t: Excellent
q33t: Good idea especially for adults
q33t: Great idea but we did not use.
q33t: It seemed to have a lot of support and we were aware that the youngsters enjoyed it immensley. Luke did a great job.
q33t: This was FANTASTIC , it was great to have children included in the sailing @ Bass even if they weren't aloud to race. I think this is something that really made Bass very much a FAMILY evet! I would rather have to pay for this next year than lose it! Thanks to you guys for organising this.

q37: no 4 8%
Q38) Do you have any ideas for alternative entertainment?
Q38t) General comments on entertainment & bar:
q38t: ceilidh band
q38t: Does "yes" and "about right" not mean the same.
q38t: See below & please can there be an alternative lager to the overpowering Stella!!
q38t: The enterntainment was very out dated
q38t1: Although the entertainment was excellent, I think a big event that gets everyone involved, such as the sumo wrestling or the gladiators of previous years, was missed.
q38t1: Bar should have been open during the day especially after/between racing for soft drinks etc
q38t1: Because we went off site most nights we did not participate . But that was our choice to rest!
q38t1: Children's entertainment seemed this year to have much more emphasis on the younger children ie under 7's, apart from the football, this year had very little for the 8 - 14 year olds! Bring back Gladiators, Sumo, Bouncy castles & JASON!!!
q38t1: DJ Steve was good
q38t1: Everybody worked hard.
q38t1: It was good to see the bar open this year, ent was great

q41: yes 44 92%
Q42) Are you happy to be contacted to discuss any comments further?:
q42: yes 44 92%
q42: no 3 6%
Q42t) Any other comments that may be useful to the organisers for the future:
q42t: Could we change bass week to a week earlier as they are the same week as the nationals :(
q42t: Don't encourage protests, or if you do hear them at a time that is convenient  to the race committee. If a protest is lodged on the day of a prize giving hear the protest the next day and omit the class results and present them at the next prize giving. It would save a lot of standing around.
q42t: Easily the best dinghy week i've been to in the UK, and comes close to GARDA.
q42t: Find me a hospital closer to club
q42t: get bigger numbers for the course board!
q42t: I htought the club did an absolutely brilliant job - many thanks for all your hard work to make such a good week
q42t: I think someone should get a prize for answering 1st!!! This would be an incentive to answer this fast!!!!!
q42t: Just one comment, there were some tents pitched, cars parked and road bases left in the boat park areas and this restricted the space for boats taking part in the races. A beach master would have been useful to assist with launching and organising boats.
q42t: Keep up the good work
q42t: Keep up the pressure to discourage "hangers on" who do not sail and just come for a cheap holiday!
q42t: make sure an adult is responsible for young people and make it clear on the entry form that those attending need to respect that it is a family week so must behave accordingly. Inappropriate behave may result in being removed from the site.
q42t: More distinctive marker buoys would be more helpful to visiting sailors.
q42t: Thanks guys, another amazing week. See you next year!
q42t: The galley prices were expensive especially for tea and coffee
q42t: The RYA training run by Luke Shaw with the assistance of Steve Kirkpatrick was excellent, but restricted by RIBs being needed to provide rescue cover for racing.  Dedicated RIBs / powerboats for the training would avoid the need for the early starts and allow the training to go on for longer.
q42t: This year it was evident that the committee worked really hard despite the adverse weather and made a real effort in speaking to people. Overall it was a very well organised bass week and very enjoyable.
q42t: Was made to feel most welcome. Having an allocated space for boat parking when pre booked would help. arriving is a nightmare. All week getting a parking space became a real challenge
q42t: Yet another great week - big thank you to all the Bass members who generously give their time to make it happen for us.
