Annual Dinner
The 55th annual dinner dance was held at Broughton Craggs Hotel on 1 December. 105 members and guests discarded their beloved sailing gear in favour of best bib and tucker. After a bit of pre dinner taunting, the speeches did average the 10 minutes guideline! Dave Nicholson recalled the teamwork and input required (for which Bass is renowned) to deliver the successful NSSA Regatta held in July and proposed a toast to the Club. In response, Mike Chappell spoke of various highlights of his second and final year as commodore. Also, he announced the winners of two coveted awards - The Consistency Trophy was awarded to Sam Hall (for always turning up and sailing), and the Roger Pryde Memorial Trophy for a junior sailor showing gutsy determination went to Joe Watkins.
The prizes were awarded by Rhonwen Bryce.
