Annual Dinner 2004
Another successful season culminated with the prize giving at Hundith Hill. Over 100 sailors and guests put on their best bib and tucker to celebrate the year's successes and dance the night away.
Steve Hunt gave the first speech and proposed a toast to the club and recalled the many successes club members have achieved through the year that continue to build on our high reputation. The toast was responded to by Bridget, the outgoing commodore (not to be known as the rear commodore - so beware!), and she did it her way, closing off with a poem based around Frank Sinatra's 'My Way'.
The first of special trophies of the evening went to John Telford and Andy Smith for their achievements on the circuit which started with winning the GP Inland Championship at Ullswater and was topped off by winning the Grand Prix tourers trophy.
Sam Hall was awarded the Roger Pryde Memorial Trophy for his improvement throughout the year.
After the prize giving, Emily Carruthers presented Bridget with a small present, and the dancing commenced until the early hours.
